Hands That Gave, Hearts That Healed
Our charity department collects useful household items, primarily clothing, from members and more affluent communities. During missions, these items are displayed, and people in need are invited to select what they need. In a typical Ugandan village, children, youth, and the elderly often wear torn and ragged clothes. We believe that providing appropriate clothing is an important way to protect human dignity.Genesis 3:21– “The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.” Neighborhood Watch: As missioners move door-to-door evangelizing, they also serve as a “neighborhood watch” for urgent needs. They identify families with critical shortages of basic necessities. These families are then selectively supported with items such as food, soap, sugar, and a small amount of money. FutureProspect: Weplan to shift from distributing second-hand clothes to providing brand-new items where possible, and to significantly expand the scope of our neighborhood watch program to reach the many families in need.
Community Work &Engagement Depending on the specific area, we mobilize the community to engage in general cleaning and improvement of essential areas. This practical service includes clearing overgrown bushes, filling potholes in roads, removing stagnant water that breeds disease, opening blocked drainage channels, and repairing small local bridges. After this work, we share a meal and participate in friendly games with the residents—such as football, board games, tug-of-war, and athletics. These joyful engagements are vital for building trust and fostering a shared sense of identity and community.
Baptism & Discipleship Anatural question arises: “What happens to those who respond to the gospel we preach?” Those who receive the message and make a decision to follow Christ are baptized. They are then carefully connected to the nearest Christ-believing church we have identified and partnered with, where their discipleship journey officially begins. The host church takes on the joyful responsibility of ongoing follow-up, nurture, and integration into the body of Christ.
